During the green season in October 2006, I visited Wat Rong Khun in Chiang Rai for the 5th time since my first visit in 1998. I found that it is so amazing and interesting story for my readers. The followings info are the best description about this temple I could find in the internet. FYI.

interesting Buddhist architectural site and houses a Buddhist arts gallery.
Located in a quiet village, a 10-minute drive from Chiang Rai town, Wat Rong Khun is a small Thai temple. Conceptualised from the owner’s pure faith in Buddhism, it is almost entirely white – symbolising the purity of Buddha. The main building features small pieces of mirrored glass – representing Buddha wisdom shining all over the universe.
The creation of the temple began in 1997. It has seen an investment of more than 30 million baht (US$913,000), which has been accumulated over 20 years from the sale of Mr Chalermchai’s paintings.
It is estimated that another 60 to 70 years is needed to complete the temple, which has nine main buildings in all. More funds could have speeded up construction but Mr Chalermchai preferred not to solicit for contributions.
The temple, with an abbot and a monk, is managed by a committee of 35 local villagers. It does not offer the promise of a better life or reincarnation, but an immediate “feel good” effect for those strolling through its grounds.
Visitors or organisations so inclined to gain merit by giving to this temple are encouraged to buy Mr Chalermchai’s work pieces, publications and Buddhist art T-shirts. Although donations are not entirely prohibited, it should not exceed US$250 per donor. Tel:(66-53) 673-579.
